How Our Garden Intelligence Works

Precision Gardening, Tailored to Your Backyard.

Good gardens begin with understanding the ground beneath them.

Geo-Climate Analysis

Your coordinates connect your garden to current weather from OpenWeather and historical temperature and rainfall records from Open-Meteo. We estimate a USDA hardiness zone from annual cold extremes, calculate seasonal sun paths, and request regional soil pH from SoilGrids when available. Regional estimates are a starting point: shelter, drainage and local frost pockets still matter.

Botanical Precision

Plant search starts with Wikipedia and Wikidata for accepted Latin names, taxonomy, photos and descriptions. Gemini then ranks the matches, and the genus you mean always comes first — search 'rose' and Rosa leads, with its species, varieties and cultivars listed beneath. Care details come from Perenual and Trefle; where they are missing, Gemini fills in an estimate that is always labelled 'AI estimate'.

Intelligent Compatibility

A plant scores 100% when your zone falls inside its database hardiness range, 50% when it is one zone outside, and 0% when it is further away. Gemini turns the comparison into plain English — for example, 'This plant is perfect for your zone (survives down to Zone 2).' AI estimates never change the score: without database data, it reads 'Data unavailable'.

Seasonal Care Blueprints

AI-assisted planting plans translate your site and garden vision into spring, summer, autumn and winter care notes. Use these as guidance for pruning, watering and protection, adjusted to actual weather, plant maturity and advice from your local nursery.
